Levels and Courses
The programme of English courses for children and young learners has been designed to prepare them for B2 First (FCE) at the age of 15/16 and C1 Advanced (CAE) at the age of 17/18, the certificates most widely accepted by universities throughout the world.
The courses for children (aged 6 to 9) have been designed so that, on completion of the Junior Programme, they can be integrated into the General English Programme, whose levels correspond directly to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR):

Our courses, whether face-to-face or distance learning, are always supervised by native-speaking teachers.
Courses for children and young learners are dynamic and fun, encouraging students to think and communicate only in the language they are learning, without the need for translation, so that they can communicate quickly and spontaneously.
Dynamic, experienced teachers with specific pedagogical training in language teaching to foreign students are selected.

- Course Duration: From 4 weeks onwards

The Oxford School offers English courses for children and young learners aged 6 to 13. The courses start in October and finish at the end of June. These courses can take place on two days a week or on a single day (two hours in a block).
In July, August and September there are 4-week intensive courses with a workload of 10 hours per week (2 hours per day). These courses can be combined with sports activities.
In addition to the course book, activities for younger students include songs and games. Our aim is to help them use the language in a practical way to improve their ability to communicate in English and make progress in subjects related to their studies, using fun and effective tasks. Each level has clearly defined objectives. We want to help our students gain confidence in using the English language and develop good working habits.
Enjoy learning English at Oxford School!
Oxford School courses are divided into 8 different levels, with programmes structured according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Level 1 is for absolute beginners and Level 8 is for students who are close to native speakers.
To ensure that students are properly placed in classes according to their level and age group, an initial assessment is made by means of a written test and an oral interview.
At the end of each course, students receive a certificate stating the type of course attended, its duration, level and final result. The estimated number of hours of tuition
required to complete each level is 60 up to Level 5 and 100 from Level 6 onwards.

Oxford School prepares its students for the following exams:
English
B2 First (FCE)
B2 First, also known as First Certificate in English (FCE), is an upper-intermediate level qualification. It demonstrates that you can use everyday English, both spoken and written, for work or study purposes.
C1 Advanced (CAE)
The demand for high-level qualifications in the English language is increasing worldwide. This exam, C1 Advanced, also known as the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), meets this need, certifying and awarding a C1 level.
C2 Proficiency (CPE)
The Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) is the most advanced qualification. It proves that you have reached an extremely high level of English.
IELTS
IELTS – the International English Language Testing System – is the most popular English language test. Developed by some of the world’s leading language assessment experts, it assesses all your English language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking.
IELTS is recognised by over 11,000 organisations in more than 140 countries. These organisations include governments, academic institutions and employers, with 3,000 in the USA alone.
TOEIC
TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is a test designed for professionals and companies. The TOEIC exam is currently split into two tests, one that assesses receptive skills (reading and listening) and one that assesses production skills (speaking and writing). Students can choose to take both tests or just one, depending on their needs. The structure of each test is unique and the scores are also different.
TOEFL
The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a test of academic English taken primarily by students applying to universities in the United States of America. The TOEFL is also accepted by some
universities outside the USA as proof of English language proficiency. The TOEFL is actually a series of tests, the most popular of which is the TOEFL iBT.
At the end of each course our students receive a certificate stating the level they have achieved according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
These certificates state the type of course, the duration, the grade, the level attended and the level achieved.
As Oxford School is a school recognised by the Ministry of Education, these certificates are official and have curricular validity.
